WRO India is the World Robot Olympiad Association body that is solely responsible for conducting the World Robot Olympiad ™(WRO) in India. For over a decade, it has organized more than ten World Robot Olympiad(WRO) in India, including WRO 2016 which was the first-ever International World Robot Olympiad in India, supported by the Science and Technology Department of the Government of India and jointly organized by the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Gov. of India. Moreover, WRO India is part of the National Museums Association of India. It is primarily managed by India STEM Foundation.

WRO India Season 2023

The WRO® theme for 2023 is Connecting the World.


In 2023 teams will learn about shipping logistics and the infrastructure for our digital technology. They will investigate how robots can help shipping and digital technology infrastructure be safer, more sustainable and more efficient.

WRO India Season 2023 Levels

Enter at Level 1 if you represent a school or directly enroll in the Regional round if yours is a private team.

Level 1

(School Teams + Future Innovators Category Only)
A grade appropriate objective test to assess students’ aptitude and basic STEM subjects who wish to take part in the Future Innovators category. Those who score 60% and above can form school teams and join the regional rounds.

Level 2

(School Teams + Future Innovators Category Only)
A virtual submission round for the Future Innovators category teams to validate their idea/project.Those who qualify the
virtual regional will progress to the Level
3: In-Person regional.

Level 3

(Open for All Teams + All Challenge
Categories)
Directly enter the In-Person Regional round to personally meet and compete with other private and school teams to physically showcase what you’ve got to further filter down for the Nationals.

Level 4

(Open for All Teams + All Challenge
Categories)
The qualified teams will compete against each other at the National Championship to claim their seat to represent India in the International round in Panama.

FAQs About WRO India and Season 2023

Here’s the mostly asked questions by students, parents, coaches, mentors, schools, and our official institute partners.

School Teams are the teams of students, mentors, coaches, team managers and sponsors represent a particular school, whereas a private team is a team comprising of students, mentors, coaches, team managers and sponsors who might or might not represent a school, these can be standalone teams of friends and family, teams representing a robotics training institute and so on.

There are two ways through which you can participate in WRO India Season 2023
A. Participate through WRO India NET if you represent a school
B. Participate through Regional Round if you are a private team.

Level1. Of WRO India Season 2023 consists of NET(National Entrance Test) a grade appropriate objective test based on STEM subjects.

 Level4. Of WRO India Season 2023 consists of National Championship, a tough competition between all the teams in each category to represent India globally for WRO 2023 in Panama.

A. Launch of WRO India NET
B. Theme of this year is “Connecting the World”

No, National Entrance Test not mandatory to participate in WRO India 2023, students can participate privately through In-Person Regional.

WRO India NET, is a grade appropriate objective test, based on STEM subjects – science, math, and aptitude. This test is only for school teams that want to enroll in the future innovator category and those who clear the NET with the cut off score of 60% will progress to Level2.

No, only students from registered schools can participate in NET.
