WRO Gurugram, India City Championship | Chapter 1 (2022-23)

The event started with a stage-rocking, energetic Zumba performance, setting the mood just right for the technological game to begin, followed by the lamp lightning ceremony and prayer, marking the auspicious beginning of the event. After the lamp-lighting ceremony, various dignitaries were felicitated and came forward and helped us by extending their support.

The event had multiple dance performances presented by students to keep participants and the audience entertained and excited. The event was an absolute mix of fun and learning; it was interactive and challenging as the RoboMission and Future Innovator Category events were also conducted with people inquiring and judging the students’ innovation.

We intend to ignite the students’ imaginations and skills across the country, introducing students to WRO’s mission of promoting skill development and entrepreneurship through STEM and robotics competitions. We’re trying to make WRO India more accessible by going city to city so that all students throughout the country are exposed to this international competition. The event aimed at showcasing the brighter side of technology and how a proper relationship between humans and robots yields effective and positive results.

The team Alpine Power Chargers 4.0, represented by Kanishk Patidat, Sehejbir, and Harshit Jain of Alpine Convent School, Sector-10, Gurugram, secured 1^st position in the RoboMission Elementary Category.

The team Three Legends, represented by Kanishk Verma, Samridh Gupta, and Darsh Dwivedi of Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram, Class 7 – A, secured 2^nd position in the Robo Mission Elementary Category, under the guidance of their coach Suvarna Agarwal.

The team Alpine Power Chargers 1.0, represented by Akshat Suhag, Tanishq Malhotra, and Rhythm Verma of Alpine Convent School, Sector-10, Gurugram, secured 1^st position in the RoboMission Junior Category.

The team Alpine Power Chargers 2.0, represented by Prateek Saini, Saransh, and Shiona Chatterjee of Alpine Convent School, Sector-10, Gurugram, secured 2^nd  position in the RoboMission Junior Category.

The team Alpine Power Chargers 3.0, represented by Naimish Hooda and Advik of Alpine Convent School, Sector-10, Gurugram, secured 1^st position in the Future Innovators Elementary Category.

The team IHS102 represented by Jasmin Kaur, Aditya Thanvi, and Ashi Ojha of Imperial Heritage School, Class 6^TH – A, secured 2^nd position in the Future Innovators Elementary Category, under the guidance of their coach Praveen Sharma.

The team Clawx Hackers, represented by Daksh Yadav and Vyom Dwivedi of class 8- A and Nipun Dhawan of class 8- G of Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram, secured 1^st position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Suvarna Agarwal.

The team Drona Explorer is represented by Surbhi Yadav of class 9 – A2, Bhavishya Rohilla of class 10 – A2, and Ayush Kumar of class 10 – A1 of Drona Public School, who secured 2^nd position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Mrunalini Nilesh Mahajan.

The team Thinks Bots represented by Vaibhav of 9- B, Soumya Gautam of 7- A, and Tanmay Srivastava of 8 – B of Airforce School Sec-14, Gurugram, secured 3^rd position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Nisha Kumari.  

The team Robobrain, represented by Saishreek Singh, Sourav Singh, and Mohd Amanat of class 11- A of Surajkund International School, Faridabad, secured 1^st position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Nanda Sharma.

The team Pranavananda, represented by Prakhar Srivastava, Dileep Yadav, and Omesh Verma of class 11 – A of Pranavananda International School, Gurugram, closed 2^nd position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Aamir Khan.

The team Robogenius, represented by Kriss Khanna, Abhay Singh Nagarkoti, and Vishnu Mishra of class 11 – A of Surajkund International School, Faridabad, secured 3rd position in the Future Junior Elementary Category under the guidance of their coach Danish Salmani.

No. We only allow a single team comprising students from different schools to participate in the program. Instead, each unit represents its institution and can only have participants from the same institution.

The theme for WRO INDIA (City) 2022-23 is the same as WRO India season – 2022, i.e. ‘My Robot, My Friend’, focusing on expanding robotics and promoting skill development through STEM in India.

According to the rules of the competition, one is required to use any Lego-based hardware like SPIKE PRIME, Robot Inventor, etc. At the same time, it’s an open choice, and one can work with the hardware of their choice if participating in the Future Innovators category.

• Elementary – For students between the age of 8-12 yrs.
• Junior – For students between the age of 11 – 15 yrs.
• Senior – For students between the age of 14 -19 yrs.

WRO India is a comprehensive program conducted on a National level, compared to WRO India City, targeting only regional schools. A team should have students from the same school, while there is no such condition if participating in WRO INDIA.
