WRO India FAQs

For the Future Innovators category, teams develop an innovative solution aligned with the official WRO 2026 theme – “Robots Meet Culture.” There is no fixed problem statement; project ideation and development are entirely driven by the team.
For RoboMission, RoboSports, and Future Engineers, challenges are defined in the official rulebooks.

Registration fees vary by category and event stage. The detailed fee structure is available on the WRO India 2026 Registration Page.

The application template is available on the registration page and must be submitted on official school letterhead to wro@indiastemfoundation.org. Upon verification, the team will be activated within 3 working days, and confirmation will be sent via email.

Yes. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to slot availability for each category and event.

Yes. RoboMission has limited team slots per event, and teams are advised to complete registration early.

No. RoboSports allows participants the free choice of hardware and software, unless specific restrictions are stated in the official RoboSports rules.

Yes. All event schedules, virtual round dates, and official updates will be published on the WRO India website.

No. One team representative (coach or team leader) registers on behalf of the team and adds team members during the registration process.

Yes. E-Certificates are provided at all levels of the competition, including Virtual Rounds, Regional Championships, National Championships, and International Finals, as applicable.

Hardware platforms vary by competition category. Teams must strictly follow the category-specific rules and the General Rules mentioned in the official WRO India 2026 rulebooks.

Only materials permitted under the category-specific rules may be used. All projects must comply with safety and ethical guidelines.

The official theme for WRO 2026 is “Robots Meet Culture.”

Yes. Teams may explore general problem areas related to culture and robotics, but final project development must clearly align with the official theme.

No. WRO India does not provide project ideas, examples, or predefined domains. Teams are expected to independently brainstorm, research, and develop original solutions that align with the WRO 2026 theme

Yes. The official Project Submission Template and detailed guidelines are available on the WRO India website under the Future Innovators category.

Project submission must be done as per the timeline mentioned on the WRO India website after successful registration, following the official theme announcement

A complete working prototype is not mandatory at the time of registration. However, teams must meet the submission and demonstration requirements specified for the virtual round

Team progression depends on event structure, registrations, and competition criteria. Any changes or direct qualifications will be officially communicated by WRO India.
