What does it take for a school to move from recognising the importance of STEM education to making it part of the learning experience?
In October 2026, two WRO India Hotspot partners, Shreeram Ashram School in Amritsar, Punjab, and Graphic Era Hill University in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, hosted STEM Fests that brought the education community together around this question.
The events demonstrated how Hotspot partnerships can create opportunities for schools to engage with emerging technologies, understand changing educational priorities and explore practical approaches to STEM education.
Connecting Educational Priorities with Practice
NEP 2020 emphasises experiential learning, critical thinking and multidisciplinary education. CBSE’s focus on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, further highlights the importance of preparing students with relevant skills.
For schools, the challenge lies in translating these priorities into everyday classroom experiences.
The STEM Fests provided a platform to explore this transition, bringing attention to robotics, coding and hands-on activities. They connected broader educational priorities with practical approaches that schools can consider adopting.
What the Hotspot Partnership Brings to Schools

The value of being an ISF Hotspot partner extends beyond hosting a STEM event. It connects educational institutions with a wider network of resources, guidance and opportunities.
- School leadership: A clearer direction for introducing and strengthening STEM education.
- Teachers: Exposure to emerging technologies, practical teaching approaches and professional development opportunities.
- Students: Opportunities to explore technology, develop problem-solving abilities and participate in robotics challenges.
- Parents: Greater visibility into the school’s approach to preparing students for future academic and career opportunities.
Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom

A structured STEM programme needs continuity. Students need opportunities to practise and apply concepts, while teachers need the resources and guidance to support them.
Through the wider WRO India ecosystem, Hotspot schools can access WRO Learn courses, teacher training, robotics challenges and competition pathways.
This creates a connected learning journey, taking students from classroom activities to school-level participation, regional competitions and national platforms.
Two Partners, A Shared Vision
The STEM Fests at Shreeram Ashram School and Graphic Era University reflect how WRO India Hotspot partners can bring educators, families and institutions into conversations about the future of education.
They also highlight the importance of sustained institutional support in helping schools respond to evolving educational needs.
Through its Hotspot partnerships, India STEM Foundation is building connections that help schools turn educational priorities into practical opportunities for teachers and students.
